Celebrating the life of

Kathryn (Kitty) Cobb Elliott

November 15, 1932 - August 23, 2025

Kathryn (Kitty) Cobb Elliott

Kathryn “Kitty” Cobb Elliott (née Kathryn Diane Denmark) daughter of Roscoe Denmark and Katie Iler Denmark, died peacefully in her home of over 60 years looking over the marsh at high tide the morning of Saturday August 23, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Katie Denmark, her brother Roland Denmark, Sr., her son Stephen Andrew Cobb, and her loving husband of over 42 years, James Edwin Cobb, Sr. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of the last 19 years, Alton Milton Elliott, her son James (Jimmy) Edwin Cobb, Jr., daughters Carol Lynn Cobb, Diane Rousakis Biggs (Michael), grandsons John Paul Rousakis (Erin) and Steven James Rousakis; niece Talley Denmark Smith (Bill), nephew Roland “Sonny” Denmark, Jr., niece Tere Cobb Patrick (Kenneth), nephew Mike Cobb and several great nieces and nephews.

Kitty was always everyone’s mom. Childhood friends, cousins and even adult friends considered her their surrogate mother. She was so easy to talk to and always listened with compassion and understanding.

She was an elegant, sweet lady who was full of spunk, vigor, determination and ideas. She had an entrepreneurial spirit, a trait she inherited from her father Roscoe Denmark, a man from poor beginnings in Pembroke, Georgia who eventually started the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer distributorship in South Georgia in 1946, started the first radio station in Georgia, owned a steakhouse franchise in Florida, became a state legislator in Liberty County and developed several businesses along the way.

Kitty and her former husband, Ed Cobb, bought her father’s distributorship, Coastal Beverage Company in 1960. They worked hard to expand the business, and she dove head-first into the wine business in the late 1970’s, a true pioneer and one of the first women in the wine industry. After they sold the company in 1986, mom started a personal care salon and maintained a network marketing business for over 40 years. She also started a restaurant on a piece of property they owned in northwest Georgia. She never asked “if;” she always asked “how.”

Kitty remarried at age 73 to Milton Elliott, her devoted husband, travel companion and best friend for over 20 years. They went on numerous cruises, travel adventures and gambling trips together, always living life to the fullest.

Kitty loved to dance. She loved Elvis Presley and Tom Jones and listened to their music until the day she died. She loved playing Blackjack, not for the money but for the love of the game. She also adored Chocolate Lava Cake and would base her choice of cruise lines on whether or not they served it!

Kitty Cobb Elliott was a loving mother, friend, wife, mentor to many, trailblazer, icon in the local beverage industry, beautiful person inside and out. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
